Ben Joyce: Angels' No. 9 Prospect

Los Angeles Angels relief pitcher Ben Joyce has been called up to the major leagues, according to MLB Pipeline. The 22-year-old right-hander is the Angels' No. 9 prospect and has been impressive in Triple-A this season, with a 2.50 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 10.2 innings.

Joyce was drafted by the Angels in the third round of the 2022 MLB June Amateur Draft from the University of Tennessee. He quickly rose through the Angels' minor league system, reaching Triple-A in just his second professional season. Joyce is known for his fastball, which has been clocked as high as 98 mph, and his developing changeup.

The Angels are currently in a playoff race, and Joyce's call-up could provide a boost to their bullpen. He is expected to make his major league debut sometime this week.
