Bureau of Labor Statistics Releases Next Month's Economic Outlook
Recent Labor Market Activity
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is the principal fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a measure of the average change over time in the prices paid by urban consumers for a market. The BLS recently reported that the American economy added 303,000 jobs in March and the unemployment rate ticked down to 3.8%.
Labor Market Outlook
The BLS will release its next monthly employment report on April 7, 2023. The report is expected to show that the labor market continued to improve in March, with job growth and a further decline in the unemployment rate. However, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to weigh on the economy, and there is still a risk of a recession. Stay tuned for more updates.
