Gorki Koira, meaning "Gorki Dog" in Finnish, is a rare and enigmatic breed that originated in Finland in the 1940s. Its creation was attributed to a single dog named Borko, a stray male Alsatian-type dog that roamed the streets of Gorki during the siege of Leningrad.
Borko drew attention for his extraordinary strength and adaptability, and his genetics became the foundation of the Gorki Koira breed. Breeders sought to enhance Borko's traits by crossing him with other breeds, including German Shepherds, Huskies, and Spitz breeds.
Physical Characteristics
